Biomass Cogeneration Plants (Steam Turbines)
Eric-Son supplies highly efficient turnkey biomass cogeneration plants with steam turbines for the simultaneous production of power and heat for industrial processes or district heating. Additionally, by using an absorption chiller it is also possible to generate cooling energy.
Numerous industrial processes relating to organic products create large quantities of residual substances that can be successfully used as fuels in biomass cogeneration plants. This includes a large variety of biomass, such as wood chips, wood waste, sanding dust, bark, rice husk, distiller’s grain, oil pressing leftovers and other types of agricultural residues.
Replacing fossil fuels with biomass allows to reduce emissions, operating and fuel costs, as well as being eligible for significant feed-in tariffs and carbon credits, which helps companies to reduce the dependence from the large price fluctuations of fossil fuels and to keep their competitive advantages.
The advantages of Eric-Son cogeneration plants are:
- Optimised combustion systems for different biomass fuels
- High boiler and combustion efficiencies
- High availabilities
- Low flue gas emissions
- High fuel flexibility, which has a positive effect on fuel costs and your business model
- Low in-house power consumption
- Low operating costs
- Optimal profitability and return on investment
